Since childhood, Lucas Stefem Lopes has loved English. However, the only way he could get into it back then was by playing his favorite videogames or watching sci-fi movies. When it came time to fight for a better position in the labor market, he came to UNS São José do Rio Preto, where he’s been improving his English in a fast, effective way. After scoring 10 in most tests and attending every class and extra activities given by his teacher, he has proved that willpower is his forte!

Roberto and Michelline are not only excellent students, they’re also very dedicated. Roberto decided to start a study group before tests; he always arrives earlier to review with his classmates the extra exercises his teacher sends by e-mail. Michelline always does the homework in advance and sends it to her teacher by e-mail, so that she has more time to get ready for the following class. Needless to say, their English is getting better and better each day!

Also, he never misses a class and always attends all our events. He bonds with other students very easily and makes the school environment even nicer and happier. After finishing Competence book, he was the first one to ask if the school offered another series of books for him to continue studying. UNS Jardins is very proud of you, Carlos!

Rafael Oliveira, a very dedicated student, lost his job last December, but he didn’t want to quit UNS course. Our Administrative Department found a solution to his problem, which is why he could finish Survival book and got a certificate. Having a certificate helped him find a new job. He is currently employed, has a better salary, and is an Independence student at UNS Manaus Parque das Laranjeiras.

Marcelo is a person to be admired. He works for an IT company and communicating in English is a matter of survival in this competitive field. He hadn’t have the opportunity to study English in a language school until he started at UNS, but he had learned a lot of English by himself (he is what we call “self-taught”). It is so easy and motivating to be his teacher! He learns a lot by reading books, watching TV, practicing at work, listening to music etc. Marcelo is an outstanding student!

Students always stand out from the other for some reason, and at UNS Itaim BIbi we have so many special students, which makes it hard to choose only one. This month, however, one of our outstanding students deserves to be mentioned: Felipe Kyrillos, 12 years old, currently in one of our teens groups.
At first, Felipe was a bit shy, but he gradually started to show great progress and dedication, always keen on taking chances and talking to everyone in English. He’s always eager to participate and has even taken part in a very interesting project: the writing of his autobiography. For his dedication and for showing that his effort has really paid off, Felipe is our outstanding student of April.
